Selection Procedure of IIMs Through CAT Score
Below mentioned approach is followed by
IIMS while selecting candidates for admission based on CAT score
Result Declaration and Short-Listing
Procedure : CAT result is announced in the second week of January at its official
website. After declaration of result, applicants can find the list of
shortlisted students for the next level at individual IIM website. An interview
letter will be sent by each IIM to shortlisted students directly. Don’t be
confused regarding short-listing criteria of IIMs, it may vary from IIM to IIM,
Admission
Procedure : Admission
procedure of IIMs may be independent of each other. WAT (Written Ability Test),
Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI) may be included by IIMs for
admission. Though, CAT
plays a vital role during admission procedure but
IIMs may consider your past academic record, work experience fort ranking
candidates at its different stages of admission procedure. To get more

Documents/Eligibility Verification : Candidates those are shortlisted by IIMs
for interview they will have to undergone through following certificate
verification.
Degree Certificate/Mark sheets : At
the time of interview, candidates will be asked to submit attested copies of
relevant certificates; however they are also required to show original mark
sheets. Once you have selected for a particular programme then you'll have to
submit original degree certificate and mark sheets of all years/semesters
including attested copies for the same.
Category
Certificates : Candidates belonging to SC, ST, NC-OBC
and DA categories are required to show original caste/class and/or disability
certificate.
Final year
candidates : Candidates
those are appearing in final year graduation exam but shortlisted for
interview, they also need to submit relevant certificate as per the deadline
specified by the concerned authority.
